In contemporary times, there's a heightened awareness among people regarding the importance of maintaining a clean living environment to safeguard the health and well-being of their families and loved ones, thus mitigating the spread of diseases.

This increased emphasis on cleanliness has led to a significant rise in the demand for vacuum cleaners. iRobot is a well-known brand when it comes to robotic vacuum cleaners. The company offers a wide range of vacuum cleaners and the Roomba Combo J7+ is the latest addition to the lineup. The robotic vacuum cleaner sports a simplistic design and comes with mopping capabilities which will be liked by many.

We used this vacuum cleaner for some time and our complete review of the same.

Design

The all-new Roomba Combo J7+ robotic vacuum cleaner is a pretty-looking addition to the company’s existing product lineup. The Roomba Combo j7+ blends seamlessly into homes with its appealing spun metal with a matte finish and intuitive one-button design.

The vacuum cleaner features an integrated bin and tank, providing one place to fill the tank and empty the bin. This design feature of the vacuum cleaner makes it more functional and convenient for the users. The iRobot Roomba Combo J7+ robotic vacuum cleaner sports a matte black casing accompanied by a gunmetal disc on top. As mentioned above the vacuum cleaner comes with minimalistic control and you just have to press just one button to start or pause the device.

The vacuum cleaner houses a retractable mop. The bottom part of the robotic vacuum cleaner houses two bi-directional wheels and one swivel wheel. It also features three side brushes which promise to clean the corners of your home. The front part of the Roomba Combo j7+ has a camera and headlight along with a flexible bumper which protects the device from sudden collisions.

The Roomba Combo j7+ has an all-black docking station which comes with a pre-installed cleaning bag and an additional spare is housed in a compact compartment, minimising the requirement for additional external storage. In all, the iRobot Roomba Combo j7+ will leave a good first impression on you in terms of design.

Performance

Like the other iRobot vacuum cleaners, the Roomba Combo j7+ will also impress you with its vacuum cleaner’s power.

Like its sibling the Roomba j7+, the Roomba Combo j7+ also uses Precision Vision Navigation technology of the company for navigation. The robotic vacuum cleaner can easily create a map for basic navigation with the help of its front camera. We were impressed with its mapping technology as it worked very well while cleaning the house. The camera on the vacuum cleaner is accompanied by a headlight which illuminates in the dark making it easy for the device to mop the floor.

The iRobot Roomba Combo j7+ works with the iRobot app which is available on both Android and iOS operating systems. The app is easy to use and it helps in mapping and navigation. Proper mapping enables the robotic vacuum cleaner to clean around objects like couches, tables, and counters. Also, it can automatically detect and proactively recommend Clean Zones around dishwashers, toilets, ovens/stoves, litter boxes and pet bowls.

The vacuum cleaner also takes voice commands for easy and hassle-free cleaning. The company claims that the robovac can understand up to 600 commands.

The Roomba Combo j7+ offers the full iRobot robot vacuum cleaning experience, in addition to mopping capabilities. The device offers a 4-Stage Cleaning system which consists of an Edge-Sweeping Brush, Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes and first-of-its-kind mopping; and 10x the Power-Lifting Suction that pulls in stubborn dirt and messes.

The robotic vacuum cleaner also comes with a Dirt Detect technology which recognises the dirty spots in your home and then cleans them.

During our testing, the iRobot Roomba Combo j7+ worked well. It did not crash with the furniture while cleaning the house. The vacuum cleaner also managed to impress us with its mopping capabilities which are absent in many of its rivals available in the market.

The Roomba Combo j7+ automatically empties into the Clean Base with an enclosed bag that doesn’t need to be replaced for up to 60 days. The bag traps dirt and debris for easy disposal without a dust cloud.

Coming to the battery, the Roomba Combo j7+ can easily clean the house in one charge. We managed to clean the living room and two bedrooms on a single charge.

Also, the vacuum cleaner will automatically return to its docking station if it runs out of juice.

Verdict

The iRobot Roomba Combo j7+ comes with a price tag of Rs 89,900. The robotic vacuum cleaner comes with a hefty price tag but keeping overall convenience in mind, it can be argued that it justifies the price.

The device is ideal for households seeking consistently clean and dust-free living spaces, particularly those with pets, thanks to its effective removal of pet hair. Additionally, its mopping feature enhances overall home cleanliness. If you're in the market for a high-quality robotic vacuum cleaner and budget is not a concern, the iRobot Roomba Combo j7+ is worth considering.
